Sir (David) Alan Greengross (born 15 April 1929, died August 2018).

The son of a diamond broker and Mayor of Holborn, Morris Philip Greengross. Educated at University College School, Hampstead and Oxford University.

Conservative Party member of the Greater London Council representing Hampstead 1977 – March 31, 1986 Committee Chair Covent Garden 24 May 1977, Planning North Area 16 May 1978 Planning and Communications Policy 18 June 1978. He was leader of the opposition on the GLC from 1983-84.

He was knighted in 1986. Sometime chairman of the Institute of Metropolitan Studies, the Bloomsbury and Islington Health Authority, and of the London Regional Passenger Committee. The Wikipedia page on his wife is [1].
