East London Line (London Underground)

The East London line was a line of the London Underground, colored orange on the Tube Map. It opened in 1869 as a branch of the Metropolitan Line, and closed in 2007, the line reopened again after conversion to London Overground. It was a "sub-surface" line, running through in shallow cut-and-cover tunnels from Shoreditch, splitting to New Cross and New Cross Gate stations.
