Ponsonby

Thomas Arthur Ponsonby, known as 3rd Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede from 1976 (23 October 1930 – 13 June 1990) was a Labour Party politician.

He was a councillor of Kensington Borough Council from 1956-65 and an alderman of the successor Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council from 1964-74.

He was an alderman of the Greater London Council from 1970-77, and served as Chairman of the GLC for 1976-77.

He succeeded to his father's title in the House of Lords in 1976 and was Labour Chief Whip there from 1982-90.

He was a Governor of the London School of Economics from 1970 to 1990.
