Henry Cooper (2 March 1845 - 18 October 1902) was a boot manufacturer and local politician.

Born in St Luke's, he was the son of William Cooper and Matilda Hoare.

His father had a wholesale boot and shoe manufacturing business in Hackney Downs and he entered partnership with him as 'William Cooper and Son'. In 1874 the partnership was dissolved and he traded under his own name.

In the early 1880s he moved to Edmonton and 'Brighton Lodge' on Fore Street. He became a member of Edmonton Local Board and when Edmonton Urban District Council in 1895 was formed he was the first chairman, holding office until his death.

Details of his election, 1896, held at Enfield Local Studies Library and Archive here and a picture here.
