John Jones (later John Fenton-Jones) (1836-5 May 1920) was an insurance manager, justice of the peace and politician in the Hackney area.

The son of Richard Jones of Hanmer, Flintshire. After living in Birmingham, he moved to London. From 1876-79 Jones was a member of the London School Board, one of the representatives of the Hackney Division, and a member of the Hackney Vestry. From 1889 he was chairman of the Hackney Board of Guardians.

From 1889-92 he was a Progressive Party member of the London County Council representing Hackney South.

He married Eleanor Fenton, daughter of William Fenton of Liverpool in 1858. In 1892 he adopted the additional surname of Fenton. His son, William Fenton-Jones, was also active in politics, and was Mayor of Hackney in 1910-11.
