London Buses route 229 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Thamesmead and Sidcup, it is operated by Arriva London.

On 16th January 1988 the route passed to Bexleybus operating from their Bexleyheath Garage using existing MCW Metrobus.

On 23rd January 1999 the route was transferred to London Central from their Bexleyheath Garage using existing MCW Metrobus.

On 24th January 2004 the route was retained by London Central.

On 22nd January 2011 the route was retained by London Central using brand new Wright Double Decker.

On 23rd January 2016 the route passed to Arriva London operating from their Dartford Garage using brand new enviro 400.
