London Heathrow airport (IATA: LHR, ICAO: EGLL) is a major airport serving London, England, UK. It was known as London Airport from 1946 until 1965. It is located in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Heathrow is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom, and the fifth busiest airport in the world (as of 2014) in total of passenger traffic. It handles more international users than any other airport in the world. One of the airports of London: served by stations on the Piccadilly Line, a rail link (from Paddington Station, via Ealing Broadway Station), a number of buses and long distance coach services.
Opened 1 January 1946: the services at Croydon Aerodrome eventually being transferred to it.
