There is a list mentioned [1] Jackiespeel (talk) 15:20, October 24, 2014 (UTC)

that would be this place [2], unfortunately none of the photographs in the gallery has happened to include the panels. Lozleader (talk) 15:40, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Mayors and non-mayors[]

What connection between Arthur Millward and the cricketer [3]; William Corke and the silversmith [4]?

Did Catherine Griffiths get her plaque? Jackiespeel (talk) 16:46, February 18, 2015 (UTC)

Doesn't look like it [5] Lozleader (talk) 12:49, February 19, 2015 (UTC)

Are Mrs. Eva Martin and William Martin related? Jackiespeel (talk) 18:47, December 14, 2015 (UTC)

Frederick Kohn Barett? Or should it be John? Jackiespeel (talk) 17:45, April 5, 2017 (UTC)

Is this the right WR Cork? And what connection between the mayor and [6]
Revolvy simply rebroadcasts Wikipedia articles (possibly with adverts and certainly to boost its Google rating), here is the original [7] Lozleader (talk) 16:12, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
"W.C into a circle: William Richard Corke. The firm was founded in the late 1870s as Corke Brothers. Became Corke Brothers & Co (1899- c.1920), Corke & Apthorp (c. 1920-1938) and Corke and Apthorp Ltd in 1938 (when was amalgamated with Puddefoot, Bowers and Simonett Ltd)" [8] if that helps?Lozleader (talk) 16:20, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
In September 1918 "Mr W. R. Corke, ex Mayor of Finsbury", was chairman of the National Benevolent Society of watch and Clock Makers. "News in Brief". The Times: p. 5. 30 September 1918.  Lozleader (talk) 16:30, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
William Richard Corke died 24 November 1927 at "Langtons", Lower Camden, Chislehurst aged 75. "Ex Mayor of Finsbury, Past Master of the Clock Makers Company". "Deaths". The Times: p. 1. 28 November 1927.  It would seem from freebmd that he was born in fourth quarter of 1852 in St George Hanover Square Registration District. Lozleader (talk) 16:43, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
Corke was Master of The Clockmakers Company for 1924 [9] (and that's a useful list) Lozleader (talk) 16:51, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

So long as we find the Wikipedia page one way or another - and with quite a few of the people it is finding the first relevant fragment of information (and deciding who is the interesting relative or namesake). Jackiespeel (talk) 18:13, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure that the Finsbury Tripps have anything to do with the NZ ones. I'll try and connect the two Tripp mayors. Or rule out a connection. Lozleader (talk) 19:04, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
So when we get to write the mayor's article we add the redirect (and wait for the relevant family history people to pass through). Jackiespeel (talk) 19:25, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
George certainly not son of Edward Henry. Not born at time of 1911 census and doesn't show up in births in freebmd with correct mother's name (Hinton) thereafter. Edward Henry died in 1922 aged 52. Lozleader (talk) 19:37, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

E H Tripp seems to have been a "friend" of the Mormons but not one himself [10] [11] [12] Lozleader (talk) 19:12, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

According to Justice of the Peace and Local Government Review, Volume 86, 1922, p.21: "Aldermen E. H. Tripp, a former Mayor of Finsbury, died on 15th February. Alderman Tripp played a prominent part in local government, and was for many years the representative of Finsbury on the Metropolitan Water Board." Freebmd has the death of Edward H Tripp in the first quarter of 1922 in Eastbourne Registration District, aged 52. Probably deserves an article now. Lozleader
P.S. The probate records say he died on 14 January 1922 at 7 Cornfield Road Eastbourne. More likely to be correct? Lozleader (talk) 19:38, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

Are Mrs Rosa Curtis and George Alfred Curtis husband and wife? Jackiespeel (talk) 18:09, November 27, 2018 (UTC)
